Our Mission

Happy Tails Canine Rescue is a small, volunteer run, foster based dog rescue in Memphis, TN. We are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs of all breeds who find themselves in crowded shelters and advocating for every dog’s second chance. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit strives to provide a loving haven for canines in need, supporting their well-being through compassionate care, community education, and responsible rehoming. Our ultimate goal is to foster a city where every dog gets their happy tail.

Our Founders

Christina and Josias Gomez have been rescuing and fostering dogs for years. When they realized how many dogs were being euthanized at the shelter in their city, they stepped up and started rescuing and fostering deadline dogs. They have saved several dogs from being put down at the shelter and have rescued Australian Shepherds from bad situations.

Maisie has a beautiful heart and loves to be close to her humans. She is eager to learn and does well in a home with other male dogs. Maisie is fully house trained and loves to take walks! She is up to date on vaccines, is spayed, and ready for her forever family!

Rocko is our senior boy, but don't let his age fool you! He is 7 years young and has a good balance of playful energy and couch potato. Rocko loves to be the center of attention and lives to make you smile! He would do best in a home where he is the only pup and no cats. Rocko responds best to female humans and would need patience and slow introductions to men.

Mac

Daisy Maisy

Mac is our senior boy who has been slowly opening up with each day. He is heartworm positive and we are working closely with our vet to ensure Mac gets all the care he needs. He is currently not available for adoption but is getting all the rest and cuddles in his foster home!

Daisy Maisy

Daisy Maisy is a young, energetic pup who loves attention, adventure, and hopping up to give kisses. She takes direction well and will thrive with a family who can continue guiding her as she learns about the world. Daisy Maisy is playful with other dogs and will need slow introductions to new friends, but she’s ready to shower her forever family with love!

Pearl

Domingo

Pearl is a smaller Husky mix with a calm nature who enjoys affection, rides well in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. She can be a little bossy with other dogs at times, so proper introductions and a good match are important. Pearl may take time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is a loyal companion ready for all of life’s adventures.

Domingo

Domingo is ready for a fresh start and a family to call his own. After experiencing a lot of change in a short amount of time, he’s settling into foster care and showing everyone just how loving and resilient he is. Domingo gets along with dogs, is playful with cats, loves children, and is happiest cuddled up close to his people.
