Our Mission

Happy Tails Canine Rescue is a small, volunteer run, foster based dog rescue in Memphis, TN. We are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs of all breeds who find themselves in crowded shelters and advocating for every dog’s second chance. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit strives to provide a loving haven for canines in need, supporting their well-being through compassionate care, community education, and responsible rehoming. Our ultimate goal is to foster a city where every dog gets their happy tail.

Our Founders

Christina and Josias Gomez have been rescuing and fostering dogs for years. When they realized how many dogs were being euthanized at the shelter in their city, they stepped up and started rescuing and fostering deadline dogs. They have saved several dogs from being put down at the shelter and have rescued Australian Shepherds from bad situations. Happy Tails Canine Rescue was founded in December 2023.

Rocko is our senior boy, but don't let his age fool you! He is 7 years young and has a good balance of playful energy and couch potato. Rocko loves to be the center of attention and would do best in a home where he is the only pup. No cats please. Rocko responds best to female humans and would need patience and slow introductions to men.

Mac is our senior boy who has been slowly opening up with each day. He is heartworm positive and we are working closely with our vet to ensure Mac gets all the care he needs. He is currently not available for adoption but is getting all the rest and cuddles in his foster home!

Daisy Maisy

Daisy Maisy is a young, energetic pup who loves attention, adventure, and hopping up to give kisses. She takes direction well and will thrive with a family who can continue guiding her as she learns about the world. Daisy Maisy is playful with other dogs, but she’s ready to shower her forever family with love!

Maggie

Maggie was rescued as a stray and has been settling in beautifully to home life. She is 9 months old and has typical puppy energy. Each day she gains confidence and is understanding what it means to be loved. Maggie has a playful, goofy spirit and loves to be close to humans and other dogs. Maggie would truly be a perfect addition to any family.

Bandit came into the rescue's care with his brothers. He is three months old and has typical puppy energy, though he is the most observant of the three. Bandit is more of a follower but is happy to do so! He cannot wait to find a family of his own!

Woody is the one of the new puppy brothers and he is also three months old. He has a playful, energetic spirit and will keep you laughing! He has typical puppy energy and is learning something new every day. Woody is ready to find his family and finally settle into forever.
